Every other post on my feed is a plug-and-play “AI for X” template. I simply don’t buy them, and I think most people are sick of these over-the-counter frameworks by now. So whenever I get the chance, I try to run the opposite.

In May 2026 I started the week with a great team of product people at SurePay, where I was invited to facilitate a Product Discovery with AI session.

Whenever I run a workshop, my goal is to roll back to the fundamentals, the research behind them, and how they apply with today’s technology. This time we went through Netnography, Pre-mortem and Jobs to be Done (JTBD), and looked at how AI turbocharges each of these methods.

Then we wrapped up with an individual research session, and everyone shared how it went with the rest of the group. I did it this way because I believe everyone in the room has had enough of prompt engineering content.

I’d rather see how each person actually frames their questions and works through a research topic, and that’s what we spent the time on.

To be honest, the part I carry with me is much simpler than any framework. Everyone had fun and learned some new stuff, and that’s why I love doing these gigs.
